9 Ways to Wear Bralets

One of the hottest trends this season is the bralet, or bustier! Lightweight, fun and available in plenty of designs and styles, this little piece of clothing can be teamed with absolutely anything in your wardrobe and turned into a new look each time. What’s more, this funky crop top looks equally flattering on girls of all sizes. Personally, I’m a size 8 and was unsure as to how I would be able to wear this midriff revealing top. Turns out, I managed to carry it off just fine.

Below are listed 9 different ways you can wear the bralet and absolutely rock this tiny top with any style.

  • With high waist jeans/jeggings/pants (if you’re conscious about your tummy fat like I am, this is a great way to hide the flab and appear slimmer)

  • With low waist jeans (a trendy look for those who are confident enough to bare their midriff)

  • With a high waist peplum skirt (picture included)

  • With a blazer/sweater/cardigan (winter wear can be fun too)

  • With a pencil skirt (for those elegant lunches)

  • With loose tank tops (for a casual look)

  • With larger cut-out tops, sheer or lace tops (if you’re up for mixing and matching, this is a great way to team the bralet)

  • With a maxi or long skirt (picture included)

  • With a denim jacket (I personally love this one, gives the whole look a very rugged and exciting feel)

You can own a bralet by just visiting our facebook store and placing an order right away! Stay tuned for more fashion updates by Confetti.

Joy to the World

One weekend left before the Christmas week begins! Make sure you use it to get all your DIY out of the way.

Last week, we were invited for a Christmas party to our boss’ house. Not wanting to go empty-handed we brainstormed for ideas on what to gift them. Wine, plum cake and chocolates were some of the options on the table. However, we decided not to go the traditional way and came up with this instead!

Merry X’mas Collage

All you need to do is assign one letter to each person and have them come up with a creative way to represent the letter.
Click a picture with that letter and arrange them all to spell ‘Merry X’mas’ (like in the picture above).
Get the picture framed.

Confetti Tip: You can also use this method to create fancy family Christmas cards for all your friends.

Champagne Flute Candles

What you will require:

  • Gel Wax (available at any local fancy store)
  • Candle Wick (available at any local fancy store)
  • Candle wick holders
  • Champagne flutes (glasses) (available at a cutlery store)
  • Candle liquid colour
  • Pencils
  • Ribbons (colour of your choice) (available at any local fancy store)

  • Cut the wick approximately two inches more than the required size. Slide one end of it through the candle wick holder (press it to hold it in place) and tie the other end around a pencil.
  • Place the holder end at the bottom of the glass, and balance the pencil at the top end. (This is to ensure that your wick stays straight in the glass)
  • Take a pan and melt an approximate amount of the gel wax on a low flame on the stove. Add 2-3 drops of the yellow colour to give it a champagne look.
  • Do not worry about left over wax as it solidifies and can be stored again.
  • Once the wax has melted pour it into the glass. In order to get the look of a bubbly champagne make sure you place the glass away from sunlight (as sunlight helps reduce the formation of bubbles).
  • Let it dry and your champagne candle is ready!
  • Tie a ribbon around the bottom to make it a lovely gift for a loved one.

Confetti tip: You can also use the same technique with shot glasses and two drops of green or blue colouring to make kamikaze shots.

What you will require:

  • Tic tac box (available in any supermarket for Rs.10 a box)
  • Card paper
  • Black sketch pen

Tea-Cups for a Cold Christmas Morning with your Love!

Christmas time means cold winter mornings and what better way to spend it than snuggled up with your partner, drinking hot tea or coffee! These tiny tea-cups are so easy to make and can have ANY message of your choice!

What you will require:

  • Tiny (or big) white tea-cups (available in any cutlery store in town for Rs.50-Rs. 150 per cup)
  • Black Permanent Marker

Draw and write any message on your tea-cups with the black permanent marker. In order to have it stay for longer, dry out the cups in the sun for 3 days (this is known as baking). Only hand-wash the cups (the ink isn’t dishwasher friendly).

The cups are ready to use in 3 days!

Reindeer Parking Signboard

Make your home X’mas friendly (and fun) with this super-cute sign-board! Sure to make the guests laugh when they walk-in.

What you will require:

  • Old cardboard
  • Rope
  • Punching machine
  • Red Paint
  • White paint

As seen in the picture, cut the cardboard out to a desired size. Paint it red and leave it to dry. Once the paint dries, paint the sign onto it in white paint. Punch holes on either ends and slip a rope through it to hang. Your sign is now ready-to-hang.

Who knows? Santa might just drop by because of your awesome sense of humour! 😉

Turn an old wine bottle into an X’mas night lamp!

What you will require:

  • An old wine bottle (preferably tinted)
  • Baking Soda
  • Soap
  • Acrylic Paints
  • Paintbrush
  • Fairy lights (Available in any Christmas exhibition around the city for Rs.60-Rs.100)

Most wine bottles come with a label stuck around them.Scraping off the label can be a difficult task. To make things easier, we recommend a tried an tested method. Fill the wine bottle with water and leave it in a bucket full off water, overnight. In the bucket, add 5 tablespoons of baking soda and some liquid soap. The next morning, just pull the label off and scrape of the residue with a butter knife.

The next step is to paint a snowman (or any other Christmas picture of your choice) onto the wine bottle. We used acrylic paints and they seemed to work pretty well. Once you’re done painting, insert the fairy lights into your bottle and turn it on.

Voila! Your night lamp is ready.

Confetti Tip: Use the night lamp for a perfect romantic cuddle session with your partner! Dim fairy lights surely add the magic.

Perfect table set-up for a Christmas dinner!

The picture does all the talking for us in this one.
You can purchase the Santa stocking for Rs.40 at any Christmas sale/exhibition.
People who live in Bangalore can purchase their Christmas decorations from any party store on Ibrahim Street (parallel to Commercial Street). Our favourite is Lakshmi Stores (they gave us free chai!).

Turn a table napkin into an elf-hat!

You can learn how to make the elf-hat – here!

Confetti Tip: Include little surprise goodies inside each stocking for the kids. We’re sure they’ll love it!

Crafty Christmas Card:

What you will require:

  • White and Green craft paper
  • Red and Black sketch pens
  • Glue

Fan fold the green paper as shown in the above picture, in three different sizes.

Stick the middle two parts together to make a fan.

Fold the white craft paper into a card, and stick the three different fans in the shape of an X’mas tree. Draw a red star above the tip of the X’mas tree and write your message. Your 3D Christmas card is ready!

Confetti Tip: Make sure you write your message before you stick the tree onto the card. This is a brilliant craft session for the kids at school.

Milk Bottle Reindeer – for kids!

These are adorable milk bottles for your little ones to use during Christmas. We guarantee the milk will all be gone without any fuss! Learn how to make these – here!

Confetti Tip: The reindeer antlers (pipe cleaners) can be purchased in any stationery store in the city for Rs.8 each. We bought ours at Malleshwaram 8th Cross in Bangalore.
